No don't advertise this group. I don't want a bunch of mod-wannabe suck ups trying to join.

f

misa's making the rest of us look like lazy bums >.<

f

Hmm I overlooked the factor of monitor resolutions. Yes I do have a widescreen monitor on my laptop, 1280x800.

So how about we keep the banner the way it was and just put use html to center it, so who ever come to the page will have it centered regardless of monitor size? Adding white space doesn't look as good as before.

Sorry to cause you trouble misa.

Go misa!

f

Misa, do you wanna tweak the banner so it fills the entire width of the center column rather than leave a chunk blank to the right? It could be as simple as extending the gray backdrop to "here to help" out for another ~100 pixels on each side. I think it'd look better if our banner filled up the entire width, since everything else is centered.

Go Misa!

f

I like "Chaotic Updates." We should make that the official name of our group updates.

Go misa! Yay!

f

Don't die, group. =)

Go misa!

f

Because the mean intelligence of the 400,000+ MT members is not nearly as high as you'd like it to be, misa. Plus the fact that most of them just want to download pictures; whence came that image, why would they care?

And yay for misa not being a lazy bum like the rest of us group "admins" haha. Love ya misa!

f

I'm cleaning up the group admins, since a couple are now inactive.

f

As fluke has noted, MT policy prohibits direct url links to downloads of anime. Therefore, I hereby ask that all links under the "Download" section of this group page be removed and that no further links be posted anywhere in the group page or guestbook. MT groups can provide links to fansub groups, but never directly to the torrents themselves.

Please be advised that if the administrators of this group does not remove the links, the MT moderating staff will take the necessary corrective action. Thank you.

f

Dear members of the HaruhiSuzumiya-SOS-Dan group,

It has come to my attention that links to bittorrent files of anime episodes are posted on this group page.

As per the first clause of the Minitokyo General Policy states, it is forbidden to submit or to post any material that is in violation of existing and pertinent local, national, or international laws. Minitokyo is subject to the jurisdiction of international copyright laws, and therefore Minitokyo strictly prohibits the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted media, including but not limited to anime, manga, games, and software. Bittorent files used for the purpose of unauthorized distribution of digital media is also strictly prohibited.

As the current Policy Moderator, I therefore ask the administrators and members of this group to cease immediately the distribution of links to such copyrighted content and to remove all links previously posted. Failure to comply will result in proper administrative action.

For any further questions regarding the Minitokyo Policy, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
EternalParadox

Welcome paptimus to the group.

Of course this discussion is imperative to the health of this community. How can moderators judge what good art is if we can't even tell colors? XD

f

We had green names? Only "Gallery Directors" have green names, and we don't use it. Everybody's a moderator with full powers over all aspects of MT moderation. Did anyone catch what our title was under our usernames during this episode?

f

already banned. no one (or so we hope) would be dense enough to fall for it.

f

Quote: Note my lack of uncolored username... :P

Self contradictory there, aren't we? ;)

f

*Very disappointed, throws cutlass at SoulScholar* :D

Don't call a mutiny when there isn't one. It's not proper to create such excitement and then call it off with a "nevermind." =PP

f

Quote by SoulScholarMutiny is a foot.

Huh? You totally lost me there. What mutiny? *looks around, draws a cutlass and jumps down from mast on deck.*

Hello all,

We have written a formal set of Highlighting Guidelines for Moderators and Elite Members to improve the quality and efficiency of our Highlighted Submissions.

Please review these new guidelines and please inform other elite members who do not frequent this group page. We need every body to work together!

Thank you all,
EP.

That's the second time I know of that shin's quoted the wrong person. First time he messed up a username, this time he's gotten a completely different member name.

Methinks it is high time for you to get a new monitor, buddy! :)

f

Quote: Nudity is fine so long as it is artistic ie like the ceiling of the 16 chapel (think that's how it's spelt)

It's the Sistine Chapel, not Sixteen. =P

As for non-artisticly used nudity, overly tight clothing that's got what's beneath it sticking out is also to be deleted.

Nonetheless, I haven't seen 1 artistically tasteful use of nudity so far. And I don't really expect to many. heh. But thanks guys for helping out and helping MT stay on its servers (though the d/l server's being buggy today.)

f

Hello group members. The page has been fixed. The problem was caused by incorrectly used quote tags.

As general advice, members should not stack up excessive amounts of quotes. Rather, delete the older comments you don't need in your response and only quote the newest comment. It would help cut down on mistakes and resulting messed up pages.

f

Don't mind them spystreak. You might remember that I got the same kinda treatment when I was still a regular member. People used to say I was a wannabe mod. I had made it clear back then that I did not do what I did to become a moderator, but I am sure that there are people even now who remember and who hold me in a very negative light because I have been promoted to one.

And the other day, shin gave me this thread: Pseudo-mods while we were chatting. (shin, I think you won't mind my sharing this with our group. Because after all, it's to prove the point in the quote in your sig. Do not expect to be applauded when you do the right thing...)

They were talking about how shin (indirectly without naming him, of course) was a pseudo mod, and he told me that that thread was made merely 3 days before he got promoted to moderator from regular member.

So don't sweat it. You're not doing what you do for malicious intentions or to use your new Elite Member status to be condescending.

f

Hello again,

One more thing about highlighting, since I guess I've become the spreader of the news, lol. I've made a comment about this in the Highlighting thread, but I'll reiterate myself here, just in case anyone's too lazy to check the mod forum.

Last time I came I asked everyone to please give detailed reasons for highlighting. This time, I want to ask that when you propose something for highlighting, you also leave a comment. I have seen many highlighted walls where the proposer doesn't leave a comment, so we only get one person's take on why it's highlighted, rather than 2 as it's supposed to be.

So next time you propose, write a little blurb in the comments. It doesn't need to be as long as the official Reasons for Highlights, but it will be a nice touch so that members know what the proposer thought. :)

Thanks again and see you all around!

Oh, and Euna, your name's not on the left because people forgot to add you to the group. I checked your userpage, and you're still "Aspirant Member"

So you guys, add euna to the group please :)

You might be getting a negative number of quotas today because of how many you downloaded yesterday. That number gets subtracted from 5, thus a negative number.

Don't worry, the quota should return to normal in 24 hours as it replentishes itself.

-------
why the quota was lowered:

Yes, it is a big decrease. Dividing by 6 in fact. But we feel that 5 is a much more reasonable number for the d/l quota.

When you have 30 free downloads for any 24 hour period, the quota completely eliminates any purpose of the credits system. Few people create groups, and those that use credits to submit artwork will readily earn them back from comments and favorites received.

With 5, we now have a much more integrated system of quotas and credits and we reach a balancing point between giving leechers something to live on and really being fair to members who do contribute. The leechers can still download and live. On the other hand, members who do contribute will never have problems downloading anyways because even if they run out of the quota, they have earned enough credits and will continue to earn credits to keep on downloading.

We now are putting the credits to good use, and by also hiding it when above 128, we are trying to reduce the perceived importance of credits. Before, people are complaining about not earning credits even when they don't even use it because of the quota. Now, they have the quota, and they will use their credits, and so long as they have above 128, they can rest assured.

But of course, members will complain. They already are as I type this. But like I said before, we can never satisfy everyone everywhere everytime. And to be perfectly honest, if you look at who is complaining and go to those people's userpages, the vast majority of them have not done much contributing, i.e. probably were leechers enjoying the 30 quotas.
